Truth and Reality

by The-Environmentalist

Sociology, no matter from which perspective it is being investigated, contains truth and reality, which in turn are essential pillars of our existence. From a systematic and historic point of view, truth and reality intersect and influence the structure of society.

In approaching these two words, one must distinguish between meaning and evaluation criteria, which are often the result of existential dependencies.

Truth and reality are completely different. A definition of ‘truth’ is often derived from reality when injustice is called true. Hereby, values and incidents are being assigned, that are being substituted for truth values.

Politicians and business people pursue turnovers and profits while neglecting the truth. Scientists are trying to find the truth through measurements that do not reflect reality. Philosophers and people create a reality that does not contain truth.

Reality is based on perception where a person perceives something, which is not necessarily true. This often leads to relativisation.

The truth however leads to recognition and should never be limited. The truth may be unpleasant but its utilization is the right step towards change.

Being more mindful about the truth is the solution to many problems.
